Siri Upgrade with Google Gemini

Apple could integrate Google’s Gemini AI into Siri, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The Siri overhaul, which adds an AI search tool, has been delayed until 2026 as Apple works to boost competitiveness against OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity.

The report says Apple and Google agreed this week to test Gemini in Siri. If trials succeed, the model may also be integrated into Safari and Spotlight.

Spotlight had once been positioned as a competitor to Google for quick queries, but AI chatbots now dominate that space. Apple is looking to catch up.

The new Siri experience will reportedly feature text, visuals, local recommendations, and summarization powered by AI. It will also use personal data for tailored results and support broader voice navigation.
