Warp has released Warp Code, a feature aimed at making AI-assisted coding more transparent and collaborative. The feature allows developers to track each AI-generated change, comment on diffs, and adjust code live, bringing AI closer to a pair-programming model.
The interface mirrors Warp’s familiar setup, including a command line, an AI output panel, and a side panel showing incremental edits. Users can modify code directly, highlight context, and rely on the built-in compiler for automatic error resolution. Founder Zach Lloyd said the goal is to ensure users review and refine AI output rather than trust it blindly.
Warp faces strong competition from emerging tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, and command-line agents from Anthropic and OpenAI. While Warp depends on those models, its strength lies in user experience and oversight. The startup is growing quickly, with 600,000 active users and $1 million in ARR added every 10 days.
